“…being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:6
Think of life as a complete circle, circumference rounding itself, ending where you began. Thus is the story of the Rob Cassels Band. Once touted as a Southern boogie-woogie, piano-driven force, the band took a detour from their roots — genuine, but a detour nonetheless — into the world of Christian pop, hard rock and metal, selling out shows across the globe, from Nova Scotia to the Cook County Prison.
The band itself spans three decades and many musical styles and players. Leon-Russell-inspired piano riffs. Blistering guitar solos (some courtesy of Steve Morse of The Dixie Dregs and Deep Purple). Grooving and foot-stomping rhythms. But, most importantly, lyrics inspired by the peace, love and grace of Jesus Christ.
The Rob Cassels Band is now circling back to its roots. Soul-searing, piano-thumping music with meaning. After all, that’s who Rob and the musicians who join him have always been: musical stewards inspiring those who may not realize their own grace.
